Dental Implants:

Do you having the problem in speaking, chewing and laughing freely? Your smile is not striking, because you are missing teeth. Then Dental Implant is the perfect answer for you. Dental implants will allow you to speak, eat and smile again with comfort and confidence and they look and function just like your natural teeth!

A Dental Implant is a quite natural looking permanent artificial tooth replacement technique, by which dentists put back the missing teeth.

Dental implant consist two important phase:

Surgical Phase:
Performed at Town Center Dental.

Restorative Phase:
The Dental Implant, which is made of titanium metal, is inserted into the jawbone. The Dental implant is cylindrical, resembling a screw, and may even have a thread-like surface. Like the roots of natural teeth, implants motivate bone growth.

The American Dental Association recommends three types of Dental Implant:

1) The Root form implant
2) Plate form implant
3) Subperiosteal

The American Dental Association (ADA) considers both the endosteal and the subperiosteal implants to be acceptable. To determine a selection of Dental Implant is to determine whether your jawbone can adequately support the implant.

The following points are used to evaluate, what kind of treatment is to be given:

· Patient's jawbone volume
· Type of restoration
· Density of Bone
· Proprioception availability
· Occlusion and Opposing dentition

There are two other factors help us evaluate a given treatment situation which we should consider:

Minimum Implant Rule
Minimum Implant rule is designated to help remove rotational and pivoting forces that exist when multiple teeth are restored on a single tooth implant.

Maximum Implant Rule
In all situations involving crown and bridge restorations in partially edentulous patients, you start with the assumption that one implant will be used for each tooth restored.

Dental Implants take 4-6 months to complete divided into three steps:

· The first step is the placing of metal implant through surgery.
· The placing of abutment is also done by the surgery. This is done 3 to 6 months later of the first step.
· The third step, generally 2-4 weeks later, is custom-making the prosthesis and attaching it to the abutment by doing several adjustments.

Don't discount the importance of teeth, gums and jawbone as support for the lips, cheeks and lower face. If you loose any of these important structures it may be a reason of premature aging, emotional distress and a loss of self-esteem. Dental Implant supported teeth and dentures can slow down this aging process and help in improving self esteem and the often-felt loss of confidence.
